  Air Vice Marshall Ahmed Mu’azu (retd) was handed over by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to oversee the affairs of the commission awaiting confirmation by the Senate. Speaking at INEC headquarters in Abuja on Monday 9 November, Yakubu said the national commissioners decided that, pending his appointment, Mu’azu would take over as the acting chairman. He said; “You may recall that the current Commission was inaugurated in three batches. The chairman and five Commissioners were sworn-in on 9th November 2015, followed by another six Commissioners on December 7, 2016, and one more Commissioner on July 21, 2018. “The commission is a constitutional body whose members are appointed for five years which may be renewed for a second and final term.  *OFFICIAL: FCEABK MANAGEMENT ORDERS NCE AND DEGREE STUDENTS TO RESUME ON NOVEMBER 9TH*  The management of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta has on Monday, 2nd of November 2020 officially announced the institution's resumption date after eight months of inactivity caused by corona virus pandemic, _The Academia reports._  Recall that The College Management had earlier ordered the closure of schools for the period of one month after the country recorded the first index case of COVID-19 in March and the Federal Government further ordered indefinite closure in May 2020.
