 *OFFICIAL: FCEABK MANAGEMENT ORDERS NCE AND DEGREE STUDENTS TO RESUME ON NOVEMBER 9TH* 


The management of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta has on Monday, 2nd of November 2020 officially announced the institution's resumption date after eight months of inactivity caused by corona virus pandemic, _The Academia reports._ 


Recall that The College Management had earlier ordered the closure of schools for the period of one month after the country recorded the first index case of COVID-19 in March and the Federal Government further ordered indefinite closure in May 2020.


Following the recent briefing by the academic board, the oldest tertiary institution in Ogun State has now directed for the immediate commencement of academic activities. 

 

In a memo obtained by _The Academia,_ the management announced that only the freshers and sophomore NCE students will resume on Monday, 9th of November, 2020 while the finalists will have to wait for further directives. 


According to the same memo signed by *Dr. Adedayo Adebayo*, the College Registrar, steps have also been taken towards the resumption of Degree students of University of Ibadan (CEDEP) and Lagos State University affiliates and they are also expected to resume on the same date. 


In conclusion, the management also implores all returning students to comply with the COVID-19 protocols as stated by the NCDC. 


Though it has not been made officially known yet, but The Academia can confirm that the college management is of strong will to complete the first semester examination for NCE before the year runs out.

 Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has claimed there are no signs that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is ready to respect the rights of Nigerians. Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday night, Falana also criticized the federal government for setting up the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, to replace the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Unit (SARS). “As far as I’m concerned, so far, we are only scratching the surface of the problem.
